I'm on the fence between the 6x and 7x. love the size of the 7x, but hate the fact is has that huge waist belt. its cumbersome and i'd never use it.

love the 6x, but i have a 15" MBPr. i've heard some ppl are able to take some padding out of the bottom of the computer compartment and have been able to squeeze in a 15"....albeit a tight fit.

can someone who has a 6x and a 15" MBPr confirm/deny this please. pix would even be better!

thanks in advance!

I can't help you on the laptop part of your question, as I don't carry mine. I have the 777 which has a similar waist belt, and whenever I am on a hike of any distance, I REALLY appreciate it over the thin style that the 6X has. That one offers no support, while the larger style is very comfortable and actually takes the weight of the gear. If you fill the 7X to near capacity and take it more than a few hundred yards from your car, you may get to like it!

I have to agree with Yno. I have the 7x and the belt keeps the pack stable and no banging against your back on long treks over rugged ground.

thanks guys, but unfortunately I'm not traveling far with the backpack. more importantly for me is my gear fitting and the ability to fit my 15" MBPr.
