I continue to struggle with getting decent hummingbird photos...and now the hornets and wasps have taken over, chasing the birds away. I have just ordered a different style of feeder...hope that helps with the leaking situation. The Hummingbirds still prefer the feeders to the flowers.

Any how, the bees are not as active when it's getting dark, leaving the birds in peace!

And again before it got quite so dark...

Sandy you did great and that second shot is my favorite. Try the Aspects HummZinger feeders and that will end the problem. You will only be feeding the beautiful hummingbirds.

The second one, in particular, is a great shot, Sandy.

There will be days when you get the shot(s) you missed days, months or years before.

Very pretty captures Sandy and aren't you the lucky one with a male still hanging around. The second shows great detail and color and is quite lovely.

I 2nd Carol's endorsement of the Aspect feeders. It's all I'll use any more. :)

Thanks Al, Ted and Steve. Every night this male sits, then drinks, sits then drinks. No competition at this feeder, so he just sits for a few seconds, then grabs a sip or two!
I am looking forward to the new feeders. Amazon reviews were very convincing too!

Two very nice shots. And I echo Steve's comment-Males!! I just ordered the same as you-never liked that general design 'cause couldn't tell how much nectar was still there. But the clear bottom solves that-duh, how simple can a solution be? The 1st half of the summer, bees have never been much of a problem but about now it starts in, so hope this will help.

Thanks Rog. The bees just took over here a couple of days ago. There's plenty of flowers that they could go to...

Love 'em, Sandy. Hummers have been low in numbers here this year, at least in my yard.
