What does the "L" denote?

Is it for "L"usciously expensive?

"L"otta' cash?

Just wondering if the use of "L" has a specific meaning...

"L" means "Luxury" and defines pro-quality lenses. In contrast to consumer lenses they feature a combination of at least one ground aspherical, UD, SUD and/or CaF2 elements which are an important basis for potentially outstanding optical performance.

It means "How Much cash will I Lose this time"?

:D I still love my lenses...:D

The way I see it is if I am going through so much trouble to take a shot, then my camera and lens better put as much effort into making the picture as I have!

L stands for the Lawyer you'll need to hire when your wife files for a divorce because you neglect her and spend all your time shooting pictures.
