Accepted yes....perfected...certainly not. But I will continue to try harder, and continue to learn from all of you "experts" here on POTN!

Unlike most Hummingbirds, this one will not back away from the feeder. So I'm stuck with the feeder in the shot, because otherwise the composition looks terrible.

Very nice Sandy, you have a beautiful Male there. Have you thought of cloning out the feeder, that background is just beautiful!

Sandy, You have a great series here. I agree 100% with Bret. The series will be stronger with the appropriate crops.

Sandy this is a excellent series! I agree you should clone out the feeder. My hummers have been addicted to my feeders all summer! LOL

Thank you everyone. As I said in the beginning, he is so close to the feeder that with my post processing skills, or lack of, when I crop out the feeder it puts him on the edge of the frame, facing out, which does not look right. On number 2, I did clone out the feeder, but my skills are not very good. If he would back up more than 2 inches, it would not be an issue. I will continue to improve with practice!

Another problem, I have to use a tripod for steady shots, which makes flowers shots very difficult in my yard, because they are spread everywhere.

If anyone is up for the challenge, you can edit my photos!

Sandy, these are great! You're not alone with the feeder in the shots. That's all I have been able to manage to get, despite a full table of flowers on my deck.I figure this year I will just practice capturing these fast little buggers and work on composition next year!

Thanks Denese. My thoughts too...one step at a time. I'm glad to finally be able to capture a hummingbird that wasn't on a perch!

Those are excellent Sandy. I'm very jealous. :) But I actually had a Hummer come to my feeder today! I ran inside for the camera and when I came back....gone. But there is hope. But until then I'll enjoy yours.

Here is #6 and 7 with the feeder removed. Using the content aware fill in PS. Hope you don't mind, if you do I will remove them.

Excellent job capturing him Sandy! Love Craig's edit too :) I'll have to give that 'content aware fill' a try...
