I've created a signature with the text tool in Photoshop, but I cannot find any way to save it to my PC. I wouldn't have wanted to do the same thing over and over again with future photos...

Anyone knows?

TIA

Not clear on the problem. You created an image, why won't it save?

Not an image, just a text I wrote using the text tool, that's all, but I've made a lot of changes and want to save just the text for future use.

Right click on the text layer, choose Duplicate Layer from the drop down menu. That will bring up the Duplicate Layer box - under Destination - Document choose New and give it the name you want. That should create a new document with just the text layer. File/Save.

Save it as a brush.

Doesn't work.

As a workaround I've found that if I save just the text in a word document, and later paste it on a new photo, it does the job. I still need to move it again to exactly where I want my signature to be.

Does for me. You can use File/Place to add it to another image.

You could type your text on a transparent layer then save it as a .png image to save the transparency.

Better yet I think, you can create a brush using your signature. With a brush, it's easy to change size and color.

Here's a tutorial on how:

Can you post a screen shot of the layers?

edit> save works like a charm!!!

IF you are asking how to save it as a watermark... have the text on a transparent layer. crop it close. and save it as a PNG file.

Defining it as a brush as mentioned works well too.
