If they were around here I'd be shooting them all day. Hey, when the bird in flight is as big as a German shepherd, it's easier to track them!

I don't have them in my backyard, so I'm so happy that you do, and that you share them with us. Keep shooting and sharing Ian, they are beautiful!

Thanks Jake. Yeah, they are slower than a Kingfisher, but there were a lot of times where they would suddenly appear around a tree almost right in front of me, flying along the river...made it challenging when they were so close.

Thanks Mark. There were only a few flight shots where I could fit the whole bird in the frame, that's one of them.
