I really like both pictures, although the first one is a little too dark, in my opinion.
I like the first picture, because the person taking the picture really makes it. So often, a good landscape goes wanting because it needs a person somewhere in the picture to help with interest.

I like the 2nd one also, because of the lines, the fact that foreground, middle ground and background all have interest. The sky is nice an dramatic.

excellent composition...great job on the pictures ben...glad we were able to bond a bit and get some solid quality picture out of the trip...next time we go up we will be sure to get in the water...keep up the good work

i LOOOOOOOVE the second one. the water looks so fake as its coming onto the sand. its weird! look slike it could be peeled right off. very need and gloomy to some extent which is cool. i love it
