What would you choose if you had Sigma 30mm 1.4 (Non Art) / Sigma 30mm 1.4 (Art) / Canon 35mm f2 IS? The price for the 2 lens is around the same except the Sigma 30mm 1.4 (Non Art) which can be bought around $300 (Used)? If Performance is the priority which would be better to go for (Crop Sensor )

I'd go Canon as well but that's because I have a lifetime ban of Sigma lenses. I got burned in the past. That said, I believe that the Siggy 30mm art is suppose to be a very nice lens indeed.

I don't see a choice. Why would anyone choose either Sigma when the Canon is available? I am biased, though. I have the 35 IS, which I shoot primarily on full frame. The lens is equally laudable on apsc cameras.

I used to have the sigma 30mm.
F1.4 is amazing. I can even drop it down to 1.8 I'd buy it again out of the three choices.

JJ,
If you don't mind, which Sigma gave you grief? The only one I've ever had is the 70-200 OS, and I think its the bees knees. Or 'sick' depening on your age. :)

It was the old Siggy 50mm f/1.4. It was quite a while ago. The issue wasn't so much the lens per say but the way both companies handled the issue. The lens was front/back focusing, I don't remember which. Trying to convince Sigma that the lens was an issue was nearly impossible. Trying to convince Canon to fine tune with the sigma lens was impossible. Both camera and lens went back to their respective manufacturers several times and the issue was never resolved. I gave up and got the Canon 50mm f/1.4 instead. Of course these days with MFA the whole thing might be a non-issue as these days we can fine tune ourselves. But the whole event left a bad feeling with me so I no longer get siggy lenses.

Canon as well. I love IS, and FF compatibility for the future.. doesn't hurt the choice. ;)

If you're keeping your T4i I'd go 30mm Art, based on your line up though I don't see where you really need it... But that's none of my business.

if you have no desire to use a FF camera, then i'd go for the 30mm f1.4 Art...the older 30mm f1.4 can be found for quite a bit lower than $300 though...

I was thinking to trade or sell the 40mm for either 30mm f1.4 or 35mm f2 IS

Of the three I'd probably go with the sigma 30 art. Why that over to other two? F1.4 and able to use the sigma dock (focus issues can happen with ANY lens so being able to adjust is a nice feature)

If you could stretch your money a bit further I'd suggest the sigma 18-35mm f1.8. But it is bigger, heavier and a bit more expensive then either the 30 or 35.

Sigma 30 art or canon 35 IS, can't really go wrong with either.

We need to know what kind of photos you are planning on taking.

I have a 35 f/2 IS that I bought specifically for indoor, low-light, people photography. In that case, having a narrow DOF isn't that useful, but image stabilization is. On the other hand I have a 24mm f/1.4 that I use for northern lights photos & having f/1.4 is very useful, but image stabilization isn't.
