Nice glove and ball Terry...yours from another era?

You can just feel the heat and dryness of California in those shots Stina! We have plenty of barbed wire, but no bull thistles so far thank goodness!

Thanks Ricardo. Ball and glove definitely from another era, and it was a great era.:)

Terry, I love the baseball. It looks as though it saw a lot of use!

Richard, Harry makes a great blur and the picture is cool because of Maggie sitting there and not being a blur.

Stina, those are really lovely. As Richard says you can feel the heat and dryness of California in them.

Thanks Levina. It did see and still does see a lot of use.

Terry, great baseball photo, I like the light on it
Stina and Richard, both nice light.

Thanks Klystron.:)

Thanks Stina. Hope to use the ball and glove for a little more time yet.:)

Nice "B", Terry and it looks like it's seen a lot of play time. :)

Poor Harry, he makes a great blur though. :)

Very nice barbed wire and thistle pic Stina. Hope you get some relief from the drought.

I'm not sure if it is inappropriate to say something about it, but it's a strange day here today as we are having a national day of mourning for the victims of flight MH17. It is also the day the first victims were flown into the country so the forensic experts can begin their work, identifying people so they can go home to their loved ones. As I was watching the television it crossed my mind that "(to) bury" is also a "B" but not a good one. It's all so very sad. 298 people killed for no reason at all.

After watching the solemn procedures at the airport, I needed to take my mind of things and I decided to process some shots I took early this morning. They're just snap shots that I took during the preparation of my breakfast so nothing fancy or creative.

Bread

I shot this with the 5D and the 50mm f/1.8 and I shot it wide open. I was really surprised to see how the narrow DOF sort of meanders around the loaf of bread. I only resized it for the web and sharpened the in-focus bits slightly, is all.

Breakfast

The same gear but I shot this at f/11 - what a difference! I hadn't thought the difference would be that big with 50mm!

Beer in a Bar from the Aloha Brewing Co.

Lots of alliteration this week. ;)

I like the breakfast. The shallow depth of field is more pronounced with a full frame sensor.
The beer looks good as well.

Thanks, everyone!! It's dry for sure and my life seems to revolve around hauling water but it hasn't been hot really. Thank heavens!!

Beautiful, "Beach, boys, bird and boat" picture, Ricardo!!

Lovely shots, Levina. That beats my breakfast, for sure. :)

Nice "B's", John.

Thanks, Jo, Andy and Stina!

Oh dear, a BMW! Good "B" but I had one once, bought it used and everything you touched on that thing broke off: door handles, mirrors, wind shield wipers, you name it, it broke off. Plus the electrical circuitry turned out to be a mess so if you pushed a button you didn't get what that button promised! I didn't keep that car long... :)

If she were a boy, Bailey would be very handsome. She's 54 pounds of lovable sweetness. I've never had a dog with such a great disposition. She is always happy and wanting to please.

Levina, I've been thinking of you in light of the MH17 tragedy and hoping you weren't too closely connected. No, this is no place for any other kind of comment...enough to say that I'm sure that all our thoughts have been with those affected.

Growing old disgracefully!
