Phew! Too Much Hummerbirding for One Day

The 3 hummers in my yard kept on coming, rain or not. One of the females had claimed the territory a couple days ago, but the male seemed to challenge that claim today. There were a lot of chasing, body-slamming throughout the day. Sometimes all 3 of them got all tangled up and I could not tell who was who. But there were also peaceful moments where they just came and went and enjoyed themselves. Here are some pictures:

Thank you, everyone, for your kind words. Capturing hummingbird pictures is really addictive. There is always something less than perfect that makes you want to try it again.

What a great set of shots. The season for hummers seems to have really slowed down here in So Cal.
