Cute girl. However, it looks like only her mouth is truly in focus. This is an example the misuse of a wide aperture lens. At f/1.4, the depth of field is quite shallow. In this case, most of the face is out of focus.

Nice expression. If you're going to shoot at f/1.4, then look in your manual under Custom Functions. & put the focus point under your control on the joystick so that you can focus on the eyes.
You'll also be able to reduce the empty head room at the top.

Thank you for your comments. I do agree that at 1.4 and the distance I was at, it is quite shallow.

This is an example of where a bounce flash can be very useful. Bathroom walls and ceilings are often while and will allow you to use ISO 400 and a smaller aperture such as f/5.6
