I borrowed my son earlier this evening. I haven't shot just for fun in a long time so I thought today would be a good day for it. Usually his older sister is my model for any test shots/experiments I do, but she's in Hawaii right now so he was tagged for model duty today! I think this shot captured his enthusiasm during the entire time he was in the garage with me. Lol!

There are photos that just catch your eye when you see them. This is definitely one of those.

I don't know how good of a model your daughter makes, but in this case this one of your son is as good as they get in my opinion.

Thanks. I did apply a little bit of softening in PP.

Thanks. I think it really captured his attitude and enthusiasm for being in the garage on a very warm summer evening here in central California.

I think it's beautiful. And great focus on the eye.
That boy is going to break some hearts when he grows up... :)

Do you mind sharing your lighting set-up? This one just kind of grabbed me, which is even more impressive considering it's a garage photo of a less-than-enthusiastic model ;)

Sure. It was actually a really simple 1-light setup. I had a white muslin backddrop set up, but I could have easily use a plain white wall in the garage- had him stand about 5-6 feet away from it. I set up an AB800 with a socked PCB 22" white beauty dish on a boom stand just above the height of his head and angled it down about 30 degrees or so about 3 feet from him. I took the shot from directly underneath the dish. I can't remember the setting on the AB800 slider but it was metered to f/8.
