Kingfisher with Fish

I think these birds like me .... it was a quiet day on the river, then this gal swooped in to show me her catch.

Thanks Doug....ya, she was having some trouble doing it on that small branch, so she finally flew off to a kore favoured perch to make the final blows.

Thanks Peter. The tide was almost out so there wasn't much water left in this spot, hence the tiny fish remaining.

For sure, Jeff. They have a large territory here, so they Zing back and forth, and then you may jot see them for any hour or more. It tests one's patience.

A great set of kingfisher photos there Ian, many times I've tried, very few times I've succeeded, well done.

And the beat goes on! Again, very nice, Ian. But beating the fish on a branch?? Mustn't like the "Tingle in the Tummy".

Guess her Mom didn't teach her not to play with her food! Great set Ian. Sounds like Kingfishers are in the same category as Hummingbirds...they test patience equally!

Thanks Rog. It's funny watching them as they take their catch and repeatedly bash it on a branch. I guess they don't like the wiggly feeling as it's going down.

Thanks for the comments Sandy....yep, about the same level of frustration as with hummers. And the same patience, if not more, required.
