I'm thinking if pulling the trigger on a Cheetahlight 360 system. I'm looking for something for location work with more power and better refresh rates than my Canon 430EXII's. I talked to Edward recently and he was explaining to me that the new yongnuo triggers provide the best HSS results but lost me a few times (let me say, I've had some service needs with my cheetah products and am amazed at the outstanding service!).
I currently use the Phottix Odin setup for off camera speedlights and if I'm also using strobes with the speedlights, I will trigger those with an atlas receiver. I'm curious exactly how the HSS (or hyper sync, or whatever you want to call it) works with the triggers? How is the 360 activated? Is it a headphone plug like my atlas interface or is it intelligent like a speedlight? I don't fully understand how the new yongnuo trigger is incorporated (or does it replace) the cheeta trigger? In this mode do you observe the same power loss that you do with a speedlight in HSS? Can I utilize an Odin receiver to achieve the same results?
Finally, is the umbrella mount the only "mounting" mechanism on this light? Is there some type if mini speed ring or is it utilized the same as a speedlight as far as modifiers are concerned. I've never used the soft boxes that mount with the umbrella but is the mount on the light sturdy enough for one of those? What about the larger PLMs? I currently have some Q-Box 24s with the pro bracket.
I realize there is a thread dedicated to this light system, but with all of the questions I didn't want it to get lost!
Thanks!
