A good friend of mine and local photographer puts on workshops every now and then to talk about different lighting techniques and working with a model. I'm trying to branch out of from shooting portraits to work with more models. Here's a shot I took that a few months ago at one of his workshops that I just rehacked today. Shot with an AB1600 througha softbox camera left and a gelled AB800 outside the window.

The idea was to create different moods with the lights using the same model, wardrobe, and spot in the room. We all had a different mood that we were assigned to create as part of the workshop. Mine was mystery. So yes, I guess the private eye scene is a good description.

Thanks for the feedback!

Your eye is naturally drawn to the brightest part of the photo. In this case that's her knees and thighs.
