Still don't see the issue with the window I posted. Very easy to follow with stone, many colours, glass, clouds, cross, people etc.

Are we going to get complaints if a certain type of picture is repeated more than once every 100 or more? Who is going to police it? You?

Anyway, here is another image that should also be easy to follow and picks from Martin's image.

It's not every 100 posts or so, I was merely pointing out that a extremely similar shot was posted two posts ago! I thought you might want to reconsider.

I'm sorry if I have offended you.

Here are my 2 cents: if a person makes a particular association in her/ his mind, who's to object to it?
We are not trying to impose or force our brains into anything, I hope. :p

I think you're missing the point Renata. I think reading Lonerider's post (a couple back) should explain things/

I've read it , Roy. Thanks.
His post is not going to be effective, though. How are people going to know what was posted by the OP a while back?
Perhaps only he regulars will know :p

So, you think it is all about my image of a gull? That was the post before the new rules...

Easy gents, my “friendly reminder” wasn’t about any one post. It was about multiple recent strings of 4-5 bird pics, 3-4 church pics, 4-5 boat pics, 3-4 flower pics, etc. I’m probably even “guilty” of doing it myself at some point.

I’d prefer not to think of it as a “rule”, and it certainly isn’t “new”, but rather the original intent of the thread. Look at a picture, find an element and post something that incorporates the element and going in a different direction.

I’ve never seen a word association exercise go along the lines of

“Horse?” Horse
“Ocean?” Ocean
“Flower?” Flower

There are all sorts of threads devoted to specific topics such as birds, churches, boats, and flowers. The idea of this was to have the subject of the photos morph from one picture to the next yet with some connection to the previous one.

I’ve edited the initial post to try and clarify that intent some. If I am having a hard time explaining my idea with words, take few minutes and compare the first 2-3 pages and how drastically the subjects changed vs more recent pages.

I admittedly “stole” this entire idea from another forum (as I said in the original post). The reason I was such a fan of that thread was that I found it forced me to look deeper into the photos being posted and really absorb everything presented. I found that made me think more when composing, framing, and editing.

Sort of a mental exercise that I believe has helped me improved my skills and how I look at images.

No, I don't think so. LoneRider's latest post explains it admirably.
