I literally just ordered one of these for my las vegas trip coming up. No way I could lug around my trusty manfrotto all week.

seeing i could swap out the heads is what did it for me, ill try out the head that comes with it but i love the grip head I have on my tripod now

I just recieved this tripod yesterday and i initially really like it. Its built nice, the included ball head is great quality but I am swapping that out with my monfrotto horizontal gripped head which i love, i dont like having to twist a bunch of knobs.

just look some test shots around the house last night and the tripod held my D700 and 24-70 with no issues. Im going to the local lake for the sunset tonight to give it a real world test

my only issue with it compared to my manfrotto is the twist knobs on the legs. I like when its folded up you can twist them all at once to unlock each leg section but closing the legs take a bit more effort as you have to twist each one individually.

and this thing is so small folded up, i can fit it underneath the manfrotto when that is fully collapsed with room to spare

Congratulations! To close you can untwist them all individually, collapse all of them and tighten them all at once. It would be the exact opposite of what you described to open it. That would make it the same amount of effort.

I love my Red White and Blue Roadtrip. Was amazed at it's size when collapsed. Plus I liked that it was 40 bucks cheaper (when I bought it) just because it was in colors that say 'Merica! Although once the tripod was fully extended you really couldn't tell. http://www.amazon.com …Y8/ref=twister_B00BQTQ4MC (external link)
