A couple years ago, this cactus began growing in my backyard. I live near Sarasota/Tampa, FL. I have no idea why or where the cactus came from. So, I have a few questions:

1. What kind of cactus is it?
2. How did it get in my yard?
3. Does this cactus bloom flowers? If so, when?

Yes Cacti produce flowers, which produce seeds. That is how it got in your yard.

Looks, at least, close to a Prickly Pear cactus. If so, they flower and fruit; probably transferred to your yard in bird poop

Thank you so much for your expertise regarding this nearly two-year-old question.
