I was out last night taking a couple shots with my new barn-door tracker, and was using my RF-603's as a shutter trigger, since I forgot my intervalometer at home. When I was taking the cable out of the shutter remote port, the end of it broke off in my camera (5Dc)! I tried to pull it out with a pair of needle-nose pliers, but it doesn't seem to want to come out. I'm scared to pull too hard, I don't want it to break further down in. Any way I can make this easier??

if it was me I would use a pair of waterpump pliers and give it a tug, its only straight pin connector inside cant see u will do any harm

If it won't budge with pliers or tweezers, I don't think you can do much except take it to a repair shop. They may have to take the camera apart to get to the whole connection. It does look troublesome, since there appears to be a gap in the center (shouldn't fuss too much less you bend the pins). Maybe if you have a pair of those small curved scissors or and x-acto blade, you can try prying it out from the center....I know it's tempting to keep on fussing to get it out. But there's then increased odds you'll break the pins!

Like tongard says... The remote just press-fits into the socket so it should slide out with little problem. It looks like there's enough plastic protruding to grab with a pair of pliers.

I don't think they have to be water pump pliers specifically.. Any type that will afford you a firm grip should do.

I had exactly the same thing happen a few weeks ago with my 603 cable. I used pliers and was able to pull it out without a problem.

Thanks everybody, I was able to get it out with pliers. Broke a few pieces off, but managed to get it out!

I tried my other 603 cable, and it is a super tight fit as well...they must've just made them a hair too big.
