I am trying to making a dual recording setup for interview style recording. I have two audio techinca (external link) lavs. The only way I can get audio from these is to use a juicelink pre amp. My question is way can't I use a xlr to trs adapter (external link) and plug both into ch 1/2? What do I need to do to uses these mic with my dr-60?

You can get 1/8th to 1/4 TRS adaptor for each mic into the DR60, then stereo 1/8th into your DSLR.

If you are going to use the DR60, you will hear more noise coming from non XLR mics. I would recommend switching your lavs to lower noise cardoid XLRs such as this:

Take your gear to a music store and directly compare the sound of your current lavs to the better quality lavs. You will clearly hear a difference.

You are right about the noise. Drives me nuts. Thinking of getting these

The noise is so low pitched. I am going do some test and see if the dialog with cancel out the sound.

I prefer cardoid mics that do a better job of reducing sound below the mic like clothing rustling.
