What a fun shot! I'm assuming the background is other birds, the colors really compliment the subject.

Yup, it's a colony where the nests are crowded very close together on the rock. This one was posing at the edge and I was a few feet away. The tricky part of photographing here is isolating one or a pair from the crowd.
