Hi Everyone

It has taken me quite a while to get my table top studio up to scratch - still a lot of work to get done to it, but i thought these shots were worth posting for some critique, to see where i am going wrong/right and to hear what you think? These took me about 5hrs all up to do today, i took at least 300 shots and these were my best...so C&C are all welcome...good and bad - i do wanna get this right some day!!

Well done Del and I love the Strawberry in the sodawater.

I'd like a macro of the inside of a Passionfruit..

Oh yeah Passionfruit would be pretty colourful! I couldn't see any though - what season do they come in???? I thought it was now? I guess my fruit shop doesn't stock them!!

I would love to photograph raspberries being squished lol but they are $100 a kg here where they are rare $100 A KG yes you read it right!!!

Hi Dell,

I have a professional photographer sitting right next to me as I type. She would like to know what the photo book is about first, but said the first four are the most visually appealing (to her) if it's a book on strawberries!

Me; I like 1,2 and 7 (I'm sure I can see a face in the top of the splash in 7). I reckon No 6 had the potential to be the winner but did the strawberry just slip past the field of focus? I'd love to see that shot at a smaller aperture (if possible).

Absolutely great work. I also would like to see your setup.

Keep shooting please.

Paul (and Lesley, the photographer, says hi and your very talented...high praise indeed 'cos she never said that to me..probably because I'm not talented:cry:)

Hi Meaty0

Oh thanks for the compliments - from a pro also, now i feel i have a growing head hahaha! I forget the name of the book, it was only 2 days ago i heard about it, but it's images of WA, and since strawberries are a big part of Albany (Im not from there but i know there's strawberries galore down in the colder climates of WA) i figured it would be a good part to focus on.
They want all photo's of WA, and then they have a section that represents food in our region...so that's what got me playing around with it.

Ill try a smaller aperture next week and post it :) I think its slightly out of focus also...

great shots there, something i was going to do this weekend after watching an advert on tv where they drop a cherry into water, you beat me to it

but as i said some great shots...well done
I like 2 the best because you have the fruit completely in the picture. Picture 1 might look better if it wasnt cropped so much. just my oppinion though. Picture 7 looks good cropped that much though.

Exellent shoots Del. Really like the super tight crops and the colors. Hard to pick one as a favourite but would have to say 3.

Those are terrific shots! You have a very good setup. I like 3 & 10 best.

(your shutter is sure getting a workout!)

Numbers 1, 4 and 9, one star each. #4 has a tear in the fruit - otherwise would rank much higher.

#6 two stars

#10 three stars

#4 would have gotten stars except for so much being out of focus.

#'s 2, 5, 8, 11 were not in the race, in my opinion.

It all took a lot of work, and it shows. Congratulations on a great series.
