new 32g sandisk CF card...

my brand new card takes forever for my computer to recognize it, when plugged into the card reader... like upwards of a full minute to open.

my old dane-elec 8 gb is immediately recognized when its plugged in.

anyone have this happen before on a CF card?

both cards have been formatted in the computer, and then again once inserted into the 7D camera.

stores pics fine, works correctly, just once 'mounted' into the USB card reader i go make a cup of coffee and wait for it to be recognized by my laptop..

Where did you buy the card?

It could also be an issue with your card reader. see if you can get a friend to mount the CF on their system to see if its any faster.

got it form amazon. not many other places ship to APO/military overseas

i doubt it, because any other card i insert opens almost immediately. only this one particular card takes 30 secs to a minute to open.

Being downrange sucks bro. Crappy ass internet.

There could still be a compatibility issue between the card and card reader, just like bios issues. Strange ones pop up every now and then, even with true name brand components.

most likely your card reader is the issue.

finally got a new card reader, and yes that was it.
