Honestly, I don't recall the last time I posted here, but thought I'd share a few from the SD Zoo.

Rob, how do you get such a dramatic look in post?

Mostly everything. Shoot in dramatic light, process the raw(s) with contrast.

Nice set. I recently went to the zoo also, but have the wrong kit really to get anything decent. My son was pleased to see the "elents" (elephants) though.

I really love the SD Zoo. I was born in Chula Vista and lived in SD until my early 20's. I still visit regularly, in fact, my wife is there on vacation right now. The zoo just has so many cool opportunities for photos.

I always laugh when I see people taking selfies while they have a real camera hanging around their neck. I get that you can instantly upload to social media, but it just kind of seems ridiculous to me.

The poor guy has a Nikon D7000 so no selfies for him using his non existent wifi :-P He was just taking a photo for FB to show where we are. I somewhat agree with you though, I never use my phone for any shots ( I also don't even have a FB or IG account) but the convenience of a phone gets to everyone at some point!

It was awesome. First time back since I was 4 or 5 (22 now), so it was pretty damn amazing being there.

When you get the chance, you gotta check out the Wild Animal Park as well. We went a few years ago and while it had not changed much, it is still a magnificent place for photos since you are in the environment from the tram.

70-200 is not long at the SD zoo :). I go with crop body + 2x extender. Nice photos Chad!

Btw, I think the Canon 6D is a piece of junk. Somebody should get rid of it with good price to me and upgrade ;)

70-200 is a bit short for my tastes at the zoo. 150-600 would be a safe bet next time I go.

anyhow, pano from the 6D:
