Apr 28, 2016 14:43 | #5390 Wonder if anyone here has experience with buying a refurbished 6D directly from Canon. Looks like current price is $1099 with free shipping & 1 year warranty. This is $300 below current price at major national retailers. Is there anything I should be aware of in considering this offer? Thanks! Way too many cameras, lenses, tripods, and bags (especially bags, where did all these bags come from?)

NewCreation Goldmember More info | I purchased mine refurbished. The warranty is the same so I don't think there is anything to worry about. My name is Brenda ~Saved by grace, walking by faith

jamganz Goldmember More info | I have bought 3 refurbished camera bodies directly from Canon, with my 6D being the latest. Never had a problem with any of them and always low shutter counts. If you get % off the refub price with the 1 year warranty, I don't think you can go wrong.

I have the trip of a lifetime coming up and have been trying to avoid bringing my 6D mostly due to fear of theft and weight reduction. So I have been rotating secondary cameras to bring with me. But none of them compare to the just overall usability and quality I get from the 6D. I think I should just bring it. 6D, 50mm Art

I have bought and sold the following, RX100, A6000, Fuji X-E1. None of them really make me happy. I am looking at an SL1, but really its not THAT much smaller (well it is, but still similar) than the 6D. Well, I have an SL1 (100D) as well as a 6D and I wouldn't even consider taking the SL1 over the 6D for the trip of a lifetime. The SL1 is hopeless above ISO 400 whereas the 6D shines at high ISO settings. Put your fear aside and go for it, is my advice! And you have built-in GPS so every one of your photos will be tagged with the exact location. What lenses were you considering taking?

jamganz Goldmember More info | Apr 28, 2016 17:13 | #5395 Agree w/ Annie here. I just went on trip through Vietnam, Cambodia and Thailand w my 6D. Glad I brought that instead of my 70D since the low light capability came in handy while visiting some caves. I shot at 8000 and 10,000 ISO in them....wouldnt have had same results with my 70D. If it's the trip of a lifetime...bring your best!

Exactly what I wanted to hear, I like my X-E1 upto ISO 3200, but its focusing stinks, so if I swap this for the SL1, I get better focusing but crappy ISO. 6D, 50mm Art

edmidlifecrisis Cream of the Crop More info | Apr 28, 2016 18:04 | #5400 On the other question, I just got back from a trip to NY with lots of time in NYC and brought my A6000 instead of the 6D as I originally planned. This was not a trip of a lifetime for me but I wished I had my 6D pretty much the whole week, if that counts for anything. And I like my A6000. Ed
