Chilling early last night with an old artist friend of mine...we used to ride bikes to the swimming hole together "back when" about a half-century ago. We had been talking for a while. The sun had long gone down and just a bit of sky light was filtering in through a small window. I decided to max out the ISO and see what would come of it. I knew what I *wanted* to get out of the picture. It was too dark for auto-focus and I couldn't really see to manually focus so did as well as I could. Actually, I could barely make him out in the viewfinder. Hand held.

Here's what I ended up with. I'm happy with it but critique is always welcome (and needed!). ;-)a

Always suprised when I leave auto ISO on and hit 12800 and the images come out just fine (subjectively)

35-80 with the front element removed for close up macro shots, though this one wasn't very close up. There was a long thread using this lens but I can't find it now.

Here it is https://photography-on-the.net …hread.php?t=190428&page=1

Thanks, bildeb0rg. Me and him "chaperoned" his brother and my sister when they were dating each other. They got married but ended up getting divorced several years later. Me and him stayed good friends through the decades that followed. He's one of those friends that knows where the bodies are buried. ;-)a
