Portland, Oregon skyline, last night, from the Eastbank Esplanade, just north of the Hawthorne Bridge.

6D + 16-35 F4.

If I don't get the shots I want with the gear I have, the only optics I need to examine is the mirror on the bathroom wall. The root cause will be there.

I had trouble with soft focus on mine, and discovered it was the UV filters. Threw them away and never used a filter again apart from sometimes circular polariser and/or ND. (on L lenses)

I also took my lenses and body into the local service dept and paid good money to have lenses set to the body. No probs with focus after that.

I could see how the 6D results might be underwhelming to someone already used to FF quality. I went to the 6D after 6 years of using the original 7D, so I was definitely pleased with the difference.

I must say that the 21mp shows up all the details of older and not very sharp lenses. My EF primes are looking very good, but then again the film like feeling of the 5D is not there on the 6D.

Some simple photos

I did the exact same thing and I am more than happy with this camera. I won't be changing it any time soon.

What the heck........I don't get any of this. I spend very little time editing my pictures. Colors are great...I just don't have to do much to them.

I guess I got the only 6D ever built that can focus on moving objects and requires little post work.

if you don't mind me asking; what metering mode do you use for moving subjects? I just got my 6D and heard it 's a great camera but not good on moving subjects

With all respect due, what does metering mode have to do with moving subjects? Do you mean AF mode?

Have a look at the 6D thread to see what you 'can't' do with the 6D. Word did go around it was no good for sports if I remember correct but... you will see!

(I had one myself, great camera! but due to illness I can no longer hold it)

The 6D is definitely NOT a "sports" camera, but that's what I use it for. ;-)a The only complaint I have with the 6D is the FPS. They claim it to be 4.5 FPS, that is an optimistic claim if you ask me. I was surprised how quickly it focuses & how well it handles tracking in Al SERVO mode. I'm not saying it's "amazing", I'm saying it handles those situations much better than I expected it to. Obviously the 5Ds & 1Ds are the cameras to get for covering sports, if $$$ not the issue.

I've used mine a few times for rugby and it managed ok. Ran out of iso on my 1d MK3 mid February last season and it was either use the 6d or not get anything useable at all. Problem solved with a 1d MK4 ;-)a
