The atmosphere definitely wasn't this clear when I was there, unfortunately my HD crashed several years ago and I lost all my pictures of the Grand Canyon :( I've never seen this angle of it before either, where did you take this (I'm assuming this is the Grand Canyon)?

It was actually a bit hazy and I was shooting midday. I got lucky on this shot. I have about 300 shots of the GC from that day and the following day, and maybe 3-4 are usable. It's not an easy landmark to photograph, due to its vastness.

I forget the exact spot. This was off the main drive, east of the village. It was the afternoon we arrived there, and we didn't venture too far down the drive (the next day was the full day).
I believe the pic has GPS coordinates on Flickr, but I'm not sure how accurate they are.
