I'm thinking about selling this lens and keeping my nifty fifty instead. Using the money from this to put towards a 70-200 2.8 IS. *sigh*

Unless you create bokeh torture tests, there is not a huge difference in output past about f2.5, so you might be just as happy. But honestly, how much cash will that really free up? $200 extra vs selling the f1.8? Is that really going to make the difference toward a $1500 lens?

I already have the 50mm 1.8, bought this lens but am not as impressed as I thought I would be. So selling this lens would give me $300 towards a 70-200. Along with selling my kit lens and my 70-300. So, really, it will help quite a bit. :)
