Wow, nice, nikesupremedunk.. I'm jealous!!

I actually borrowed this exact lens last weekend when i was down in Cape Town for a friends wedding, got some awesome shots! Only thing I found was quite a few were slightly out of focus, which I didn't notice at the time of shooting.. seems you really have to hold her quite steady, I'm guessing because of the lack of IS, but it might have just been me.. Any case, took around 790 shots that days.. at least half to 3/4 are keepers :)

Can I ask, where from, and for how much did you get it? I'm hoping to pick one up one of these months.. (though, TBH, I've heard of a IS version coming, so might try wait for that, if I can ;p)

Dirk

hey dirk thanks,

i wish i had the lens in my hands now i miss it already lol. i think you might be confusing what i bought (24-105) with a 24-70? because the 24-70 doesn't have IS and the 24-105 does. as far as the cheapest price of the 24-70, it seems like now every site is charging at least 1399 new. so i would go with whatever site that has free shipping and doesn't charge you tax. i don't want to mention the site i bought from just yet so it doesn't make them look bad if they correct their mistake to make up for it.

also i've heard of the 24-70 II rumors but if the pattern is correct, it'll probably cost like 2000$ or more for having IS. (canon seems to add $600 for IS on their L lenses) either way good luck, it's on my wish list too when I upgrade to FF.

hey nike :)

Right you are! Actually noticed the other day browsing this forum.. was talking about the 24-70, not 105.. didnt look left enough to see the 24-105 on the lens, just noticed the 24 and 70 on the zoom indicator ;P my mistake! Any case, what I've heard with the IS and Canon.. pity.. but might still be within reach if I can save up enough by then :)

Otherwise I guess the 24-105 is always an option! more reach, cheaper, IS.. hmmm.. the big debate!!!
