yup, all natural with a reflector for fill.

which gets me thinking - I REALLY need to get createive with off camera strobe for my next shoot.... but shooting natty is just so easy/fun.

but I do want to get more technical and creative with OCF

hahah I hear you man, I am the opposite, I do a lot of strobe work and I feel like I should really really REALLY go all natty for a whole shoot!

I honestly love this lens and don't hesitate to take it out on a shoot whatsoever, even having my 85L with me.

Sometimes the 85L is just too tight, so I use this without a second thought. I know I'll get a great image from it.

Its a vastly underrated lens and I put it (IQ wise 90% of what my L's are)

Put it this way... I got rid of my 50L to get this lens. IQ is hard to tell between the two honestly. The L is "better" but only marginally. I got this because it hits focus almost all the time, where the L didn't.

thanks for the post. I think Im gunna pick up this lens along with the Samyang 14mm and make my lens bag a little more versatile at the same time at a price that doesn't break the bank to hard. I bought a Sigma 50mm but it turned out to be inconsistent in the AF department although the bokeh and colours were pretty awesome from that lens.

yup, same thing happened to me with the Sigma. Tried it a bunch of times... I realize any tiny IQ differences mean nothing if you miss the shot.

^^^^ yeah. I have the Sigma 85 and love it but the 50 was a fail. I will give the Canon 50 a go.
