I like how her right eyelashes are in focus. I really like this shot!

thanks man. to be 100% honest, i focused on her lead eye, but i was shooting in low light coditions in my studio, so it look like the camera didn't quite 'grab' focus correctly, but yes it turned out to be a great shot nonetheless.

here is one where I got the lead eye in focus, but I still like the previous one better. something about her expression is so engaging in that one.

here's the other:

another

so about this shot, I wanted the bottom right image in there to balance it out with another vertical with the same tones.... does it look stupid or does it work? please, honest opinions

what do you guys do to fight the purple fringing with this lens? when you're stopped down to f/2.8 or so, LR can take care of it, but wider than that, and it becomes a real problem. The best thing I've figured out to do is just desaturate purple and magenta from the whole image, or at least the parts that are fringed.

Thanks man I appreciate that!! I'm trying to do more natural light, its more post production depending on the lighting at the time but I like the feel and its a lot easier to setup and shoot! I think lighting can be a great tool when used right, so I'm trying to learn both ways. I also need to shoot more, it was almost 2 months between my last shoot and this one O.o BAD!

Robert, can't say I've really noticed that bad of a problem with the purple fringing, then again I'm also used to my Tokina 80-200 2.8 which CA's like a B*TCH at any aperture O.o haha

nice;) I totally agree w/ trying to do natty light and such an easy minimalistic setup.
I've been itching to get some use out of my camera as i just upgraded to 5d2/50 combo hopefully i'll have something to contribute to the thread soon.

I will be waiting :D I'm saving up for a 5DII aswell, being a college student sucks hahah. I think 50 on a 5DII would be a great setup, however I'm probably going to wait until I can trade my 15-85 + 200 or so out for a 24-105L
