silvex Cream of the Crop More info | Dec 29, 2007 15:07 | #650 Tony-S wrote in post #4585588 Ed, I should clarify. I shoot raw only, but my Sigma 30mm at f/1.4 images are sharp OOC while my Canon 50mm at f/1.4 is not. I do no other manipulations and the Sigma is spot-on, while the Canon is not. I would send it to canon for a re-cal job. .

Now go back and review the thread - you'll see many shots are not at f/1.4. "Raw" is not an acronym, abbreviation, nor a proper noun; thus, it should not be in capital letters.

RonaldS.Jr. Prodigal "Brick" Layer More info | Dec 31, 2007 12:06 | #660 Tony-S wrote in post #4583966 Ron - great lighting, exposure and composure on this shot. To me, though, the center looks a little soft - perhaps it's a compression artifact. Can you post a 100% crop of the focal point? Thanks, Tony Nah, it's soft. You're right. It isn't, as a rule, but that was a really quick grab, and it was actually focused on her shoulder toward the camera. She just didn't look long enough for me to switch focus.
