I really like the selective colouring on the motorcycle pan. So I finally got a chance to fire off some test shots with this lens that I bought a few days ago.... and FINALLY, YES! A 50mm that focuses correctly and CONSISTENTLY. My god I didn't think I would find a 50mm that focussed properly. Two Nifty-fifty's and two Sigma 50mm's later this Canon 50mm 1.4 looks promising. Its a little soft at F/1.4 and surpsingly much sharper ever at F/1.6. I guess I won't know until I have shot more with the lens and different situations on the AF but it looks the best of them so far. I tried focusing at 2 feet all the way to 15 feet and the focus seems consistent. Tried the AF in low-light and bang, bang, bang it hit every time. The USM is quiet enough for me. Here are a few test shots around F/1.4-F/1.6! (compression might be a little bad as there uploaded to photo bucket .. didn't wanna upload test shots to flickr): Thanks Jay! Glad you finally got a good 50mm... By far my favorite focal length... Test shots look sharp... Yeah im glad too. My fave focal length for sure as well. I can shoot anything with a 50mm. ---Jay---
