Try to get a good copy of the Sigma first, and if you fail, get this lens, i know thats what i did! Now looking at a similar situation with the sigma and canon 85mm. Fingers crossed for a good sigma copy!

look at the thread on the sigma 50mm, i think you will likey. It offers better performance around 1.4-2.0 IMO!

it depends what you are going for, if you want lens flare at all the 50 1.4 canon is your best bet, thats one of my selling points, how much you can control the amount of flare from tons to a little with this lens
