My dog was cage trained rather quickly. Maybe 3 months. By then she knew how to ask to go outside. She wasn't much of a chewer either. I think I broke her of that when I put red hot chilli pepper juice on the corners of the table she did chew on. She never chewed anything ever again. She has a nasty habit of bringing leaves, sticks, rocks, etc inside when she comes in. I don't know why. We love her though!

That's so funny! (chili pepper -- I'll have to try that :p) Sorry I missed your post earlier. Cute pup :D I hope mine trains that fast. He's been doing really great so far.

We only put her in the cage when we left the house or when we went to bed. Then later when we went to bed we could trust her to lay in bed with us. After she was potty trained we folded up the cage and put it away until she had puppies.

Amazingly, when I set it back up before she had puppies she went right to it to have her puppies in it. She knew it was a safe place for them. She's very smart.

Yeah same thing happened when we were training our dog, except he only used the cage for a few weeks then we finally gave up on it, he was well enough trained to sleep out of it and it was very quick till he learned the bed was much more comfortable than the floor!

It is cool though, hes a german shepherd/hound mix and we think he may have a touch of husky in him based on personality... though he hated his cage before, while the door to it is open he loves just hanging out in it, we put some blankets over it to make it dark so we figure its because it seems like a cave or something

and because I can, heres another!

Just got another copy of this lens (third time now that I will be owning it). Finances have been tight so I decided to trade my 50L for one of these and put the difference in cost towards bills / expenses.

Just did some testing around my folks backyard and this copy is great wide open thankfully! Probably the best of the three I've had.

Here's one at f/5.6 on a 5DmkII

Nice photos Taylor and Luke! Beautiful dogs. Mine is part Black Lab part Border Collie. She has the long hair and ears of a Border Collie and the black hair and snout of a Black Lab. She also has a fine white stripe down her front side about 6" long. Otherwise she's all black.

That looks like one OLD dog! Looks like a mix between a Wire Haired Terrier and a Chihuahua.
