I use DSLR Controller but via WIFI with this hack (external link). I can use it on my phone and tablet and I dont think I would want to add tablet's weight to be on top of my DSLR.

I'm glad you posted this link again (I think you did in the past as well).

I guess this is the only reliable connection even with the 6D with Wifi function from what I'm reading. Didn't want to spend money on a CamRanger either as they're just re-badged. Now I can justify why I need a brand new tablet

I'd have to use a 10" tablet for this to make it worth while for me. However, that would make it pretty inconvenient for most of my shooting.

From my personal experience and as wells comments on vendors page - DSLR Controller seems to work better over WIFI than over wired USB connection. I often had problems of camera not being detected but no more.

Next week I am going on a 3 week photography trip and plan on using this WIFI setup on 10" Samsung tablet and / or 4.8" Samsung Galaxy S3 phone. I am not planning on using this for every situation but I am sure there will be times when it could be useful.

Hi, As this thread mentions DSLR Controller I have a quick question please.
I have just got this up and running on my 600D with the TP-Link option.
How do I get the system to just download and show a Jpeg to the Nexus 7 and send a RAW file to the SD Card in camera?
Many Thanks for any help.
Russ

Many Thanks,
Russell.

If your camera is set to save to RAW it will continue to do so. DSLR Controller will download a JPG over WIFI and show it on your tablet.
