I hear ya. The kids were running around something fierce, I had to act quickly. The other issue is the distortion. Get them close to the corners and it's all jacked up ya know.

Embrace the distortion.

That is step one of going ultrawide.

;)

Very best,

Interesting subject this. I've been leaning away from 17mm the past few months & going for 28mm as my landscape 'wide' ;) It's a tough call to make and as has been said, it's down to personal preference PLUS the actual location & if you can step backwards etc etc

Heya,

Again, focal length really is relative. It's about what you want to compose and how far you are from what you're wanting in your frame.

I hate my 16-35 MkII and I use my 14mm Rokinon almost exclusively now.

The extra 2mm plus the vastly superior sharpness are a killer combo.

Well I ended up using the 14mm and my 8 quite a bit this past week and I'm floored at their performance.

One thing I did was bought a Tamron 17-35 today from another member. It was inexpensive and I'm only going to use it for a little while. I mainly want to see how the 17-35 range suites my wants/needs. If it works out good I'll sell it and buy the 16-35 F4 IS and pick up an extra 1mm on the wide.

God that 14 is sharp lol.
