A friend told me about the large amounts of birds that live below the Dam. So we took a trip up there. Lots of Herons. Another bird that I don't know, but my friend told me it was a black capped (something).

All these were taken with 7D, 70-200 2.8 II, and 2x extender III which made them 400mm.
My Tammy 150-600 should arrive next week. I will have to take a trip back when it arrives.

Very nice Joel. Black-crowned Night Heron is the other bird.

Thanks 2n10 & Budcam.

Sorry everyone, I just realized that I also posted these pictures a couple of weeks ago. I forgot that I posted them, and did it again.

Nice,,,,,,, But I wanted to point out something that you may not have thought about. In the first shot, there is something really magic showing in the reflection, which would have been better if you hadn't lopped off it's head. In fact, I would have taken a shot of just the whole bird reflection, without the actual bird in the frame. That would be a real brain teaser for anyone viewing it to have to figure out what they were seeing.

I just thought I would mention this, if you were back on location, and had another opportunity.

I like that reflection too. That is probably the sharpest shot I have from that day.
