It was a typo Berman - I meant Jervis Bay :-)

And, according to Wiki, Hyams Beach is in Jervis Beach - so you were right Berman.

Hyams Beach is its own suburb, immediately North of Jervis Bay. I did have to check if it was in NSW, because Jervis Bay itself is part of the ACT (as shown by the pink dividing line in this map). And it's true you can see Jervis Bay in the far distance of my photo, but I was on Hyams Beach and Hyams Beach is the majority of the image so that's the answer I was after. In answer to the "north of" question I was tempted to say, only just, but that would have amounted to giving the answer.

It depends whether you consider "Jervis Bay" as a suburb/territory or as the body of water..... The WAIN was north of the suburb but for the body of water the answer to the question "N or S" would have to be "neither".

Ah. The confusion is that I thought Roy meant the body of water. I didn't see that there is a town of Jervis Bay.

My answers referred to the town and not the body of water.. it's the town/beach name I wanted afterall. I'm comfortable that they were fair and accurate, well done to Pelooyen for working it out.

because Jervis Bay itself is part of the ACT .

No it is not.
Jervis Bay Territory is it's own Territory.

But it easy to see why people think it is though.
It is governed by the same laws as the A.C.T. and you even need an A.C.T. drivers licence and rego if you live there but the A.C.T. only manages some aspects on behalf of the Commonwealth.

I prefer to be in the bush with the animals than a crowded city.
