Bees and Sunflowers in CO

Took the rig out for another spin today (first full day of vaca in CO)
as my folks have a killer sunflower patch and a LOT of pretty docile bees.

5D2, 100L and the Pringles can as the weapon of choice. C&C is always welcomed!

And honey. These bees LOVE honey...the bees in AZ couldn't care less.

His other wing is fine...by this point he was honey drunk enough he wasn't real coordinated...so I fed him from the spoon. :)

Nice set :cool:

As for the bait; honeybees are very task oriented. If they are collecting pollen they will ignore any bait that you use. Those honeybees (all females btw) are collecting nectar -sunflowers sweat it like crazy. So since they were looking for nectar it was easy to get them to feed on the honey.

dalan, that makes sense...I tried baiting the bees in AZ with honey and it had no effect...they were unpersuaded!
