After months of procrastinating I finally got around to making this website I bought a domain name for. Visuals are done, pictures are uploaded and barring a final check of whether I've included all the pictures I want to include (and whether I've removed all the pictures I shouldn't show) I'm down to the text.
I have a blog section which is currently empty, and will stay that way until I have something worthwhile to say. My problem is the 'about me' page. I'm an amateur, a hobbyist, I'm not looking for business or bookings. Mostly this site exists just so I have my own corner where I can post my best work (or failing that, my favourite work). I don't have credentials, famous clients, testimonials, or particular accomplishments besides winning a really minor weekly photo competition somewhere on the net, and getting an 'in the spotlight' page about one of my shots in a photography magazine (that doesn't really have a wide circulation).
I feel it's important to have an 'about me' page, just to make the site a little more personal instead of just - bam - here's my pictures. I just don't really know what to write about. I've seen a number of discussions about this but they all related to pro photogs trying to gain business, so not at all what I'm after. Any tips?
P.S. Definitely planning on adding a photo of me but still looking for one.
P.P.S. If it matters, here's the website: www.wtbphoto.com![]()
P.P.P.S. Is the first image of the homepage gallery loading slow for you too?
