About 5 chicks but they were hiding from me.

They usually do but in this case the mom was standing on the shoulder of a paved road,I saw her and stopped because she looked at first like she had been hit,But I think she was just herding her chicks and eating ,She was fine..:)

After I stopped I remembered i had a camera with me which I usually do.

But yea usually they avoid people.

So very cute. It's hard to believe that this tiny thing will eventually grow to the size of the bird on the left. Great capture.
