I have to say, I enjoyed this blog post by Roger Cicala's Lens Rental blog: http://www.lensrentals.com …ls-photography-dictionary (external link)

The subsequent posts/comments are also entertaining.

If this has been linked previously, I missed it and I apologize.

Thanks, Kim! I always love Roger's stuff.

Like this one:
"Build Quality – How heavy the metal barrel, on the outside of all the important parts of the lens, is. For example, any lens weighing more than 2 pounds has great build quality."

How about "available light photographer" - someone who considers flash to be the work of the devil, and those who use flash akin to practitioners of witchcraft

...because he, no matter how he furiously denies it, is utterly terrified of the light he cannot understand.

I do have a former colleague who calls himself an "available light photographer"
Sure, he mainly works with ambient light and doesnt add to it, but his definition is "any f**king light thats available" and im sure that, stuck in a coal mine with nothing but a box of matches, he could make an incredible photo.

There are many others though who dont understand flash and use the term "available light" and argue it is purer photography, just because they dont want to learn

 Pffft "available light photographers"...

A bunch of amateurs.

I only use 555nm light. That's the ONLY true light. <- 555nm bandpass sunglasses.

Think new Canon lenses are overpriced? Lots (and lots) of data will set you free!
