Hey guys, first post here but I've been on the forums for quite a while soaking up information. Two of my good friends wanted to go out and take some pictures so I picked up my new 70-200 f/2.8 and went out to the park. Some of the poses are a bit out there but what can you expect with two girls lol. I'm looking for any comments and advice! Also, I'm not sure how to attach pictures here yet (as far as any rules go) so for now I just have this link:

Nice set! Funny, my friends daughter asked me to take some beach shots with her and another cheerleader(we were at a cheer competition), and they got all cozy with each other. Very similar to what your friends are doing! Is that a phase?

Nice job, EchoShotz! I like the entire set. The only comment would be to try some fill flash on the back lit shots, to brighten the faces.

They are nice shots but like seres mentioned, use fill flash or even a gold reflector bc the subjects look underexposed. Back lit shots are tricky. Same goes for the shots where theyre bodies are in the sun but face are underexposed in the shade.

Some cameras, some lenses

Thanks guys. I have two YN560s but no light stand or reflectors. I've been using a tripod to mount one light and Im using the built in diffuser. Looking at getting an umbrella/light stand soon but Im so confused on where to start

Good flashes btw.

Learning flash seems more scary than it really is.

You can start doing great things with a single flash, stand with flash/bracket and a $20 umbrella and even a cheap radio trigger.
I would say, just keep using your tripod for the flash stand, but there is no bracket to hold the umbrella.

Good news is that there are a lot of good resources around, but will require study on your end.

To get started:

Creativelive.com has a lot of great resources. Check there calendar to find up coming classes. Here is one for entry level into flashes.

Youtube also has a lot of information as well as im sure a lot of books and blogs.

Here is a link that has a flash expose chart on it. This tells you what flash power duration to set the flash to at a given distance and aperture.

It's what teen girls do.

Great series! I don't think you want to mess with light stands or reflectors for shots like these since you'd lose the spontaneity and I think that's what made for such a wonderful collection of shots. A flash would have helped a few shots, but that's the only thing I would have added.
