So I'd like to get your opinions on this. As of late I've been going back and forth with myself about how to present images online. I currently have galleries set up, but I've been thinking about using slideshows instead of galleries. What do you guys think? Each "category" would have it's own page with a slideshow of images instead of the normal gallery type page.

Thoughts? Pros? Cons? I know it's probably more subjective than anything, and more-than-likely a personal choice but I'd still like to hear your thoughts.

I think that slide shows are a great way to capture attention on a front page but when someone goes to look at your images they are going to want a bit more control over the viewing process, which I think galleries are better for.

I use a slideshow ONLY on my home page. I only show about 5 on the slideshow. I prefer seeing thumbnails on galleries because I hate having to wait for the next slide. I want to see ONLY what I want to see.

Good insights. The slideshow that I'm thinking of building for my galleries would have navigation button and a thumbnail overlay so that the viewer could skip to any photo and pause it if they wanted. It wouldn't be just a straight slideshow without controls. Dan, similar to yours except it would start automatically when the page loads.

Does that change, or sway, your poistion?
