I had to crop these quite a bit. This guy was about 75 yards away. I have only had my Tammy 150-600 for a few days and haven't had time to really get out and try it (maybe tomorrow). I was mowing, and this Hawk landed in a dead tree near where I was mowing. So I got my camera and took them from the mower seat. I haven't identified the variety yet.

Thanks HoganHeroes,
They are not really sharp. I took them in a hurry before he took off, and at quite a distance. This lens at 600 is fairly sharp uncropped, but when you start some serious crop, you can see the softness. Hey, for $1069 for a 600mm lens, you bet I can live with that.

The lens is known to be a little soft at 600 which is to be expected, but considering everything I think you will get the hang of it and get it to take them even sharper when you find its sweet spot.

500mm is sharper I do know so it goes to show you just the kind of glass you have without breaking the bank,,:) Not sure of the ID on that Hawk maybe someone else will chime in...Have fun!

Pretty good, really. I'll hazard a guess at Red Shouldered Hawk.
