If this isn't the correct forum, I apologize.

I have a client who after the photoshoot asked if I could photoshop some footprints into the sand, near where they are standing. Why couldn't they have told me during the shoot? Anyway, I'm kind of at a loss. I can do basic adjustments and fixes in photoshop, but this one is a little out of my comfort zone.

I don't even know where to begin. Should I find a picture of footprints online, and then change the blend mode to "overlay" and work from there? Should I use a footprint brush, and then try and add a bevel/emboss to give it some depth?

Any help would be appreciated! Thanks!

That is a very difficult thing to do and not come out looking cartoonish. If the client is willing to pay for the extra work, you could go to the same location, set up everything in the same spot, use the same camera settings at the same time of day and same weather conditions and shoot some real footprints going in the proper direction, etc. Maybe it will look OK and maybe nobody will notice whether there are any footprints anyway. Or you could tell the client that you do not do that sort of nonsense.

In this day and age we can't just be photographers anymore we have to be pixel editors and videographers as well!

Phlearn.com (external link) is the best resource.
