A sample of what I picked out of our garden today.

QUOTED IMAGE

If I piled on all of the green beans and cherry tomatoes I picked, you would not be able to see the corn, cucumber, bell pepper, french melon, eggplant, and the four larger tomatoes.

Marvelous!!!

Tim, that's a great productive garden you must have, and well-photographed produce. Our sunny space is scarce, and we can't plant everything that'd be nice to have. We tried sweet corn a couple of years. It was good corn, but--well, did you know that a cute little squirrel can detach a whole ear of corn from the stalk and carry it off intact?

svizz, your salad looks delicious, although I'm not sure I'd call something a salad if most of it by weight was bread.

Thanks to everyone for the positive comments! As I was arranging the veggies, my wife was laughing at me and telling me to quit playing with the food. :-)

OhLook, we have a good sized garden area, and the majority of it gets good sun for most of the day. While we have squirrels, they just go after the sunflower heads/seeds I put down for them and they prefer the acorns from the numerous oak trees we have on the property. The bigger problem for us is gophers eating the plant roots. While I've managed to knock off four of the little varmits, there's more out there...including an elusive one in the sunflower patch. There are days when I feel like Bill Murray in Caddyshack. :-(

Timphoto, a really productive garden you have. Reminds me of the deer and woodchuck stealing my garden days

Gardens not only grow food for humans...

IMAGE: http://tjb.smugmug.com/Other/Flowers/i-rzf8Htr/0/XL/8B1C6630-XL.jpg

But also for other creatures like the bees.

Bees in turn make food (honey) for humans. The sunflowers always brighten and decorate the dinner table and sunflower seeds are great for people, birds, and other critters.

Not good to be posting after Tim's beautiful shots, as I got nothing good.

Just a breakfast tray... I posted one once before so I'm repeating myself and it's completely boring. But I thought it looked okay in B&W. I took this with an old Fujinon 135mm MF lens, by the way.

I like the B&W. What could be better than some tea, toast, jam, and honey? Hagelslag? ;-)a

Thanks very much, Sibil and Tim.

Tim, oh yes, hagelslag is yummy! I don't have any at the moment though... :)
