1.) On a mac, how do you disconnect it? I dragged the icon to the trash to eject the p-2000 but the p-2000 still says in PC mode. Do I just unplug it?

2.) Is it better to connect a fast USB card reader the the USB port on the epson or to stick the CD card in the slot? (Is one faster or consumes less battery?

3.) are there any screen protectors available?

1. I don't have a mac but I was looking in the manual (page 38) it reads: drag and drop P-2000 icon to trash 2 turn off P-2000 and remove the USB cable from your Mac.
3 remove the USB cable from the P-2000
2. I only use the CF cards in the slots. generally what I do is I use 2 cards when the one card is full I transfer the full card on the P-2000 and have the other card in the camera ready to take pics. I'll put the P-2000 in the case and continue on and check to see how the transfering is going. For me I wouldn't carry a card reader also.
3. I haven't seen any screen protectors I had mine since July 05 I just keep the P-2000 in the case, On my P-2000 I'm not going to put a screen protector on.

1. i also dont have mac, but aperantly jd answered the question.
2. I dont think its possible to connect a card reader via the usb plug on the epson, it also seems to make the solution less atractive if you need to bring a second device since the epson is all about portability. I always use the build in cardreader. Adapters are available for different type memorycards.
3. I just keep mine in the bag and dont use or plan to use screen protection, but I have come across severel options using google.
